英语演讲角第26期

2019年5月10日，成外高新英语演讲角第26期开讲。本期主题是 “Principal Making the Campus Shine”（假如我是校长）。该主题引起了学生的极大反响，大家积极参与。有些站在学生的角度上对学校提出了期待，有些站在老师的角度上对学校的制度提出了建议，有些站在校长的角度上对学生提出了要求。我们有幸请到李校到场聆听，演讲者们的表现得到了李校的认可，也赢得了听众们的阵阵掌声。

In a word, as a headmaster, all I want to do is to better our school. So, we should feel for others. The headmaster today also wants to do all the possible things to give us a better future although something he does we don’t like.

总之，作为一个校长，我所做的一切都是为了让学校变得更好。所以，将心比心。现在的校长所做的一切也都是为了给我们一个美好的未来，尽管有些事在我们看来并不喜欢。

Like our Chinese old saying puts: food is the paramount necessity of people. If we students can’t eat well, there’s no possibility that we are productive in study.

如果我是校长，首先我要改善学校餐食质量。中国有句俗语叫“民以食为天”。学生的食物不够好，不太可能在学习上效果很好。

To be a principal, you must first be a teacher. Teaching is a sacred profession，imparting knowledge and educating people.

要当校长，你首先必须当老师。教书育人是神圣的职业。

Talking big is easy, but putting theory into practice is challenging.
As a headmaster, it is essential to be open-minded and pragmatic.
Besides, principals should be concerned about students' physical and mental health.

说大话是件容易的事，但把理论付诸实践是有挑战性的。作为一名校长，虚心务实是至关重要的。此外，校长应该关心学生的身心健康。
