The Meaning of Life ——成外高新2019级第57期Speakers’ Corner演讲活动纪实

4月28日下午，成都外国语学校高新校区高2019级第57期英语演讲角活动在孔子广场开讲，主题为The Meaning of Life（生命的意义）。本周由来自高二1班的张嘉鹭同学主持，来自高二1班的王楷、马天翼同学，高二4班的凌梓芮、杨恒同学，高二6班的李佳琳同学，高二14班的刘蕤翰同学发表演讲。

生命的意义是什么？这应该是一个令我们都深思过的问题。不同的人，不同的时代，不同的场合，人们用自己的行为诠释着生命的真谛。下面来听听我们这一期演讲者的内心世界，听听他们对“生命的意义”的看法：

With the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, many doctors and nurses put their patients’ life before theirs. They devote themselves to saving others, which I think is the meaning of life.

随着新冠肺炎大流行的爆发，很多医生和护士把病人的生命看得比他们重要。他们致力于拯救他人，这是我认为生命的意义。

Human’s history has existed for thousands of years and we human beings are like dusts in the world but I think we should do something for the whole society and make our life full and enjoyable.

人类的历史已经存在了几千年，而我们人类就像世界上的尘埃，但我认为我们应该为整个社会做点什么，让我们的生活充实而愉快。

小时候，我不懂生命的意义，长大后，我意识到生命只有一次，我们应该竭尽全力在有限的生命中做出有意义的事。这样，当我们老了回首往事，才不会感到遗憾。

you
must
search
for
the
essence of life, I will tell you it’s VALUE. You must be a useful person to the society.

我认为生命的意义是给世界带来希望。如果非要追溯其本质，我认为生命的意义是价值。你必须成为对社会有用的人。

高二4班   杨恒同学

Death doesn’t discriminate whether you are a sinner or a saint. We rise and we fall. And if there’s a reason why we are still alive, it is to leave a mark on this world.

死亡不带歧视，无论你是罪人还是圣人。人生起起落落，如果要说一个我们立于世上的原因，那就是在这个世界上留下你的印记。

高二6班   李佳琳同学

     When every opportunity comes, we seize it to realize our value; when happiness knocks, we grasp it tightly; when faced with difficulties, we deal with them with full confidence and optimism... these are the meanings of life.

每当机会来临，我们就抓住它实现自己的价值；当幸福敲门时，我们紧紧地抓住它；当面对困难时，我们满怀信心和乐观地处理它们……这些就是生命的意义。
