英语演讲角（第44期）| 我眼中的责任

2020年11月11日下午，我校传统外语活动——演讲角(Speaker’s Corner) 在孔子广场如期举行。本期的主题是“My Understanding of Responsibility（我眼中的责任）”。梁启超说过：“人生须知负责任的苦处,才能知道尽责任的乐趣。”该演讲主题旨在提醒同学们责任心的重要性，作为高中生，应该学会为自己的学习和将来负责。来自高2019级4班的李沛遥，7班的杨洪垚、肖婼文，12班的肖景心、廖梓琪，13班的米弘坤以及14班的徐艺格七位同学参加了本次演讲。同学们各自阐述了对责任的认识，并结合自身实际，表达了对自己的学习和未来负责的决心，赢得了观众的阵阵掌声。

  As students, we should take up our responsibility, study hard, make progress day by day, and live up to our parents’ expectations and our dreams.

作为学生，我们应该承担自己的责任，努力学习，一点一点进步，不辜负父母的期望和我们的梦想。

At last I want to end my speech with a sentence: how much responsibility a person can bear, how successful he can be.

我想用一句话来结束我今天的演讲：一个人能够承担的责任越多他就越成功。

Man is not a cactus in the desert and not a mountain king in the jungle. Man is a man of the society, and he cannot be separated from the society. Responsible people support the building of the society, who are pillars, bricks, stones. No matter what kind of position, they all have indispensable value.

人，不是沙漠中孤独的仙人掌，不是莽林中独来独往的山大王。人是社会的人，人的生存离不开社会。有责任感的人们支撑着社会这栋大厦，他们是栋梁，是砖瓦，是石子，无论何种职业大小，他们都有不可缺少的价值……

Everyone has his own responsibilities. The sun’s responsibility is to light up the darkness, the rain's responsibility is to nourish the earth, the flower’s responsibility is to care for the world. One may not be as bright as the sun, or as cool as a stream, or as valuable as a tree, but one can offer his feeble light in silence.

每个人都有自己的责任。太阳的责任是照亮黑暗，雨的责任是滋养大地，花的责任是芬芳世界。一个人可能不会像太阳那样明亮，不会像溪流那样凉爽，不会像树木那样珍贵，但他可以默默地发出微弱的光。

Responsibility is the most important word in our whole life, which connects every individual part of human society. With the responsibility, there will be no abandoned children, wives, and old people. Thus, our human beings will be full of happiness.

责任是我们一生中最重要的词汇，它将每个社会中的个体联系在一起。如果有了责任，世界上就不会再有流浪的孩子，老人，妻子,人类的生活就会更加美好。

By taking responsibility for our life, we will immediately gain an increased power to achieve our greatest potential. Only in this way can we become the best version of ourselves.
