2019“智慧演讲”英语演讲比赛圆满落幕
2019年10月29日，成都外国语学校高新校区2019年“智慧演讲”（Wisdom Talks）英语演讲比赛决赛圆满落幕。比赛分高一、高二两个组别，高一组的演讲主题是“Giving is Receiving ” (奉献即收获)。此主题旨在启迪学生走出自我、学会奉献、成就自我，让学生在成长的过程中学会辩证思考，常怀感恩之心，争做智慧青年，成就终身发展力。高二组的演讲主题为“Doing things right or doing right things”(尽力而为或有所不为），此主题在于使学生面对人生各种选择时能够学会辩证的思考，知道该做什么并把该做的事情做好。

决赛中，每一位选手都展现出了自己最为出色的一面，他们自信的饱满精神状态、积极的思考、流畅的表达、颇具感染力的语言在舞台上都展现得淋漓尽致。正因为这份自信，整个比赛期间，所有的老师和同学都被演讲者们感染着，认真地聆听着，学习着。学校李俊校长、杜东副校长、张盛副校长参加了两场比赛，见证了成外高新智慧青年的风采，勉励同学们相信榜样的力量，积极奋进，锻炼才干。
高一组演讲精彩摘录：
（高2019级13班尹怡菲，一等奖）
“His life experience has taught me that life isn’t always about pleasing ourselves, sometimes we have to do things for the benefits of other people. When there is giving, there is always receiving. So, don’t be afraid to give, you can be assured that, someday, your giving will come back in the best way for you.”
“他的经历教会我：人生并不只是关于取悦我们自己，有时我们也要为了他人的福祉献出自己的一份力。付出总是有收获的。因此，不要惧怕给予，要相信，总有一天，你的付出会以最好的方式回报于你。”

“I think my brother made a good choice. He knew that he could spend 2 yuan to buy a new rubber, but he couldn’t spend 2 yuan to buy a new friend. In ancient China, there is one proverb that goes like this: Disadvantage is blessing. I think this is actually the visualization of “Giving is receiving”. On one hand, we give something out and we suffer loss. But on the other hand, we get something that money cannot buy. It’s just like a cycle, whatever you give out, eventually it comes back to you. Of course, you give out more, the more you will get back.”
“我认为我弟弟做了一个明智的选择。他知道,花两元可以买一块新橡皮，但是却买不到一个新朋友。中国有句古话说：吃亏是福。我认为这就是赠人玫瑰手留余香的体现。从一方面来看，我们失去了一些东西，因此我们有所损失。但是从另一方面来看，我们得到的是金钱买不到的财富。我认为这就像一个良性循环，只要你付出就有收获。付出越多，回报越大。”

No matter what we have gained in return and what the results at last, we should always take actions. Just as the old saying goes, “Do not do evil things though they may be insignificant, and do not give up good things though they may be minor matters.”
“不论我们会有何回报，无论最后结果是什么，我们应该采取行动。正如俗话所说，勿以恶小而为之，勿以善小而不为。”
高二组英语演讲精彩摘录：
（高2018 级6班罗胤翔，一等奖）
Actually, “Doing right things” and “Doing things right” sound familiar but actually are quite different in essence. If you want to do a good job, you must take this word-"right" as the first condition, that is to say, we have to make sure what you do is right. If this condition does not exist, the later things will deviate from the direction, or even the farther away from the goal. "Compromise" is never a dirty word, like what Lining has done, doings right things first then, do the thing right. 事实上，“Doing right things（做正确的事情）” and “Doing things right（做好每件事情）”听起来大同小异，但却有本质的区别。如果想把一件事做好，必须以“正确”为导向，如果这个前提不成立的话，后续不管再努力也会偏离目标，南辕北辙。"妥协"有时间并不是一个消极词汇，就像李宁那样，作出正确的选择，再尽力而为！

Compare our life to a road, then there will always be a lot of forks. Compare the life to a tree, then there always be a lot of branches. When you are faced with the problem" Do the right things or doing things right?" which one would you choose?
如果生活是一条路，那么总会出现许多岔路口；如果生活是一棵树，那么也会有诸多的分枝。当你面临这一样一个问题“做正确的事还是正确地做事”时，你会如何抉择？

And at that time, there were two different voices arose in the central government,” to fight or not”, To fight, we don’t have enough basic weapons and supplies; not to fight, the flames of war will once again burn in this country and even will harm our border. So, what should we do? It was a hard choice. Fortunately, we did the right thing, to fight. Therefore, our country has been able to help its alley, and be able to become a strong and great country in the world.
在那个时候，中央政府出现了两种不同的声音─“参战或不参战”。参战，我们没有足够的武器和物资；不参战，战火将会再一次燃烧到这个国家，甚至会殃及我国边境。那么，我们应该怎么做呢？这是一个艰难的抉择。幸运的是，我们做了正确的决定，开始了抗美援朝运动。因此，我们最终成功地帮助盟友击退敌人的侵略，并作为一个强大而伟大的国家独立于世界民族之林。

张盛副校长鼓励同学们：It is possible for all of us to talk in front of a large audience. (每个人都有可能成为优秀的演讲者。)他号召同学们抓住每一次站上舞台的机会，展现自我、超越自我、成就自我，以一种更加自信的态度用英语表达自己，传达自己的声音。
（李俊校长发表讲话）
李俊校长作总结讲话，他说到，他虽然懂的英语不多，但是每次学校的英语演讲比赛他都抽空参加，为演讲者们加油，欣赏他们的舞台风采。他谈到2017年的这个时候，也是高一年级的英语演讲比赛，他为两位一等奖获奖同学颁奖，其中一位唐瑞同学今年8月已经被英国帝国理工学院数学系录取了，希望今天的几位一等奖获奖同学将来也能够考入中国或国外的名校，利用外语能力的优势在求学和学术道路上走得更远。他说，同学们通过这次的比赛进步很大，同学们的英语能力不仅得到了提高，同时自身的综合能力也得到了锻炼，他鼓励大家积极参与到各种活动中，不断成长，最终实现自身终身发展。
